CAIRO – 16 December 2022: Egypt has friendship relations with all countries of the world, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said in a reply to a comment on his Facebook page about Egypt’s position on Russia, China, and the United States today.

Egypt has balanced relations with all countries of the world that are based on mutual respect, constructive cooperation, joint interests, and non-interference in the internal affairs, Rady said.

The spokesman said the same position applies to the current crisis between Russia and Ukraine.

“Egypt is connected by very good relations to all parties of the crisis, whether they are direct, which are Russia, Ukraine and NATO countries, or indirect, which are European countries, the European Union, and the US,” the spokesman said.

Egypt has been calling for an end to the Russia-Ukraine war through peaceful political means.

During the 2022 UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) held in Egypt’s Sharm El-Sheikh last month, appealed for an end to the Ukraine war, stressing that the whole world is suffering from the implications of the crisis.

Egypt has been coordinating with international partners on the repercussions of the war to restore international stability and security.

Egypt is also part of the Arab League’s liaison group concerned with encouraging parties of the crisis to reach negotiated solutions on the crisis.
