CAIRO – 16 December 2022: Egyptian Minister of Agriculture Al Sayyed Al-Quseir met with his Lebanese counterpart Abbas Hajj Hassan and his accompanying delegation, discussing the prospects for agricultural cooperation between the two countries.

 

The Egyptian Minister affirmed his country’s keenness to provide all aspects of support to the State of Lebanon, in light of the circumstances the Lebanese people are currently going through, according to a statement by the Egyptian Ministry on Friday.

 

The meeting tackled many issues related to increasing trade exchange and agricultural partnership in the field of veterinary quarantine, animal and plant health. They also discussed the efforts of the joint Egyptian-Lebanese agricultural technical committee and ways of overcoming all obstacles to enhancing cooperation and exchange of agricultural commodities between the two countries.

 

The meeting was attended by Mustafa Al-Sayad, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Ambassador Ali Al-Halabi, the Lebanese Ambassador to Cairo, and some leaders of the two ministries.

 

For his part, the Lebanese Minister of Agriculture expressed thanks and appreciation for Egypt's support for Lebanon, describing President El-Sisi as “the great hero in difficult times,” as he praised the President’s role in the Lebanese crisis.
