CAIRO – 14 December 2022: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi will begin his visit to the United States by a breakfast with Republican Senators representing Kentucky, Texas, Ohio, and South Carolina, according to statements made by Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady to press upon his arrival late on Tuesday.

Rady stated that the president is also holding a meeting Wednesday with the "Friends of Egypt Group" consisting of Congress members, and that includes both Democrats and Republicans.

As for official meetings, President Sisi will meet U.S. State Secretary Anthony Blinken, and then, attend the dinner held by U.S. President Joe Biden for African leaders who have been invited to participate in the U.S.-Africa Summit.

The Egyptian president plans to focus, during the summit, on the reinforcement of cooperation between the United States and Africa to accomplish food security, and facilitation of the integration of African states in global economy. That is because such integration would enable the continent to achieve economic growth, better attract foreign investment, and benefit from technology transfer.

The president is similarly scheduled to attend the closing session of the U.S.-Africa Business Forum, which will also be attended by President Biden.
