CAIRO – 6 December 2022: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry headed Tuesday to Amman to participate in the ministerial meeting on the trilateral cooperation mechanism among Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq.

According to the ministry's press statement, the meeting is set to discuss the executive status of trilateral projects in various fields, as well as developments of the regional and international affairs.

The three ministers will confer over the challenges ensued from such developments and the necessary coordination to handle them. That is in addition to possible ways to contribute to the resolution of regional crises, and consolidation of the structure of peace and security.

King Abduallah II of Jordan held a state visit to Egypt on Saturday where he was received by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi at Al Itihadiyah Presidential Palace. The two chiefs of state held talks on bilateral cooperation, as well as the trilateral economic/trade collaboration with Iraq.

Both leaders similarly exchanged views on perils engulfing the region, supporting the Palestinian Cause, and bids to provide assistance to the Palestinian people.
