Egypt releases amount of poultry feed

CAIRO – 27 November 2022: Egyptian authorities have released a total of 79,000 tons of corn, at a cost of about $28 million, and about 41,000 tons of soybeans, at a value of about $29 million at the customs, for the pourtly industry, announced Minister of Agriculture Al Sayeed Al Quseir.

 

Since last month, the country has suffered a shortage in feed nationwide, which led some of the workers in farms to execute chicks. Footage showing the execution of chicks circulated on social media has stirred anger among people. Afterward, Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said that there will cooperation with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) to speed up the release of the largest possible amount of feed to support the pourtly industry.

 

So, the total amount of feed that was released during the period from (October 16 to November 24, 2022) reached 876,000 tons, including 611,000 tons of corn, 265,000 tons of soybeans and feed additives, with a total amount of $ 432 million.
