CAIRO - 7 November 2022: Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati extended thanks to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for his permanent backing to Lebanon in all fields, praising the quick response of the Egyptian president to Lebanon's needs of vaccines and medicine to combat the cholera outbreak.

In a statement released Monday by the Lebanese cabinet, Mikati said the health minister informed him that Egypt has sent a consignment of 1,705 tons of vaccines and medicine laden in 17 trucks.

The Lebanese premier is taking part at the UN Climate Summit which kicked off on Sunday in Sharm El Sheikh and is due to wrap up on November 18.

In Oct. Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla, affirmed Egypt's commitment and readiness to immediately pump natural gas to Lebanon as soon as the procedures related to the start of exporting and receiving Egyptian gas on Lebanese territory are completed.

 
This came during a meeting with the Minister of Petroleum, Walid Fayyad, the Lebanese Minister of Energy and Water, who was visiting Cairo, according to a statement from the Ministry of Petroleum.
 

In Sep., Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Shoukry expressed Egypt's constant keenness to support Lebanon's stability, discussing the current Lebanese developments, said Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid in a statement.

Egyptian Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of completing the constitutional obligations to achieve stability in Lebanon, Abu Zeid added.

Mikati said that he is looking forward to Egypt's continued support for his country at the regional and international levels, the spokesperson said.

Both sides agreed to continue coordination and consultation during the next stage, Abu Zeid said.
