CAIRO – 29 September 2022: “Jordan supports the Egyptian experience, and any new Arab experience in the sector of agriculture, amid repeated crises in the region and in the world, particularly the recent Russian-Ukrainian crisis,” Jordanian Minister of Agriculture Khalid al-Hanifat told Egypt’s state-owned news agency MENA.

The minister praised President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's initiatives of developing the agricultural land reclamation fields.

Hanifat told MENA that Egypt now reaps the benefits of this experiment, stressing that his country is keen to cement cooperation with Cairo in the field of agriculture and other domains.

Egypt and Jordan agreed to draft a joint action plan in the food security field to be activated within one month, according to the Jordanian Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply's statement, released on July 24, 2022.

The statement revealed that the new plan will be carried out in cooperation with the private sector, adding that the two countries agreed to activate the memorandum of understanding on operating and developing the Jordanian- Egyptian logistic areas. The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the High Egyptian-Jordanian Joint committee's meeting that was held in February in Cairo.
