CAIRO - 27 CAIRO 2022: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi was briefed on the current status of flood protection projects in South Sinai and Sharm El-Sheikh.

 

This came during a meeting between President Sisi and  the President's Advisor for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Major General Hisham El-Sweify, Director of Major Projects Department at the Engineering Authority Major General Ahmed El-Azzazi, Director of Armed Forces Engineering Authority Advisory Office Major General Ashraf El-Araby and Assistant Director of road designs in the Armed Forces’ Engineering Authority Brigadier General Abdel Aziz El-Feki. 

 

Spokesman for the Presidency Bassam Rady stated that the meeting followed-up on the construction status of the Engineering Authority projects implemented nationwide. 

 

The President stressed the need to apply an engineering plan that protects the area and benefits from the torrential water and stores its water. This is while taking into account the harmony and consistency of any construction with the distinctive and unique nature of that geographical spot. 

 

The meeting also touched on the progress of the national project for the development of roads and axes across the country. The President gave directives to complete all stages of the comprehensive development of the North Coast Road to the city of Marsa Matrouh and to provide all traffic services along the road to maintain the safety of citizens and smooth transportation.

 

With regard to roads and axes within the scope of Greater Cairo, efforts to develop the eastern entrance to Cairo at Hussein Kamel Road were presented. The President gave directives for the comprehensive development of this vital axis that serves as an extension of the Suez Road and a main entrance to East Cairo, in addition to giving attention to civil coordination and forestation, raising the efficiency of buildings and developing vacant lands surrounding the road.

 

The meeting also reviewed the status of implementation of the model market complexes project to be established in a number of neighborhoods in Cairo. The President emphasised the need to know the demands of citizens in neighborhoods with regard to the logistical and service details of the complexes and markets, as well as other projects carried out by the state inside the residential neighborhoods, through  community dialogue with the governorate and neighborhood officials. 

 

The Spokesman added that the meeting also reviewed the status of civil coordination projects in the New Administrative Capital, especially the strategic command, Egypt International City for Olympic Games, City of Arts and Culture, and Misr Mosque.
