CAIRO – 25 July 2022: Egypt’s Public Prosecution launched on Sunday an investigation into an incident of assaulting a boy of determination (a boy with a disability) in an unlicensed care center for children with special needs.

Two people were arrested and referred to the prosecution to be questioned after footage went a meme on social media showing them assaulting the victim in “Help Academy for special needs” Alexandria.

The admin of the “Missing Children” Facebook page published several posts from the nearby local residents who affirmed that the center employees were repeatedly beating and torturing the children without showing any signs of torture on their bodies to avoid any comments from their parents. These employees were slapping children on their faces and napes.

The page also revealed the identity of one of the accused people, who called “Islam” and worked at the center.
