Egypt to introduce Chinese as second language for preparatory school students

CAIRO – 4 July 2022: Egypt will introduce the Chinese language as a second language for the preparatory school students starting from September 2022, announced the Egyptian Ministry of Education in a statement on Monday.

The trial of teaching the Chinese language would be applied in 11 public preparatory schools, and a technical school, the statement added.

The curricula will be designed and then will be taught to the students, in cooperation with Chinese experts and Egyptian graduates from the Faculty of Al Alsun Ain Shams University.

The new system would be applied after signing an agreement between the Ministry of Education and the Chinese educational institute Shenzhen Polytechnic, the statement added.
