CAIRO – 27 June 2022: Egypt extended its sincere condolences and sympathy to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for the victims of a gas tanker explosion accident in the port of Aqaba.

“Egypt, the government and people, expresses its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a speedy recovery to all the injured, stressing its standing by the government and people of Jordan in this painful affliction,” the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Monday evening.

Twelve people were killed and 260 others were injured when a crane failed to place a gas tanker on a ship at the port and then dropped it away in the midway causing a big explosion and a leakage of poisonous gas, Petra news agency reported on Monday.
