CAIRO – 10 June 2022: President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi issued Resolution No. 211 of 2022 revoking a previous decree regarding the establishment of a private “Al-Alamein University.”

This private university differs from the International University of Al-Alamein, which was opened in 2020 by presidential decree No. 435 of 2020 and is located in the new city of Al-Alamein.

Revoking the decree was issued after an issuance of a report by the Higher Education Projects Committee as it showed that the establishment of the university is unfeasible, an educational source told Al Masry Al Youm on Friday.

On June 28, 2021, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said that the state is supporting all efforts to expand the establishment of new universities. This trend has led to increasing the number of governmental, private and non-profit universities, the premier said.
