Egypt's FM presents investment opportunities to Swedish counterpart

CAIRO – 31 May 2022: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry was received Tuesday by his Swedish counterpart Ann Linde in Stockholm to confer over pushing forward bilateral cooperation in various sectors.

 

Minister Shokry underlined the investment opportunities Egypt offers, and that can be of great interest to Swedish companies, especially in the sectors of telecommunications, information technology, digital transformation, smart solutions, new and renewable energy, electricity grid development, automotives, and education.

 

The minister also shed light on the importance of increasing the flow of Swedish tourism to Egypt. He further pointed out the sustainable development Egypt is achieving on the socio-economic level, and that its success in that realm has persisted in spite of the challenges the global economy is facing and the negative impact on the country.

 

The two ministers agreed on continuing coordination and consultation, as indicated by the press statements released by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

Minister Sameh Shokry, President-designate of the 27th session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, headed Monday to Sweden to participate in the 6th Ministerial Meetings on Climate Action in Stockholm.

 

The Ministerial Meetings are being held with the participation of the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission on issues related to climate change. 

 

During the meeting, Shokry will display Egypt's vision on various aspects of international climate action and priorities.
