CAIRO – 24 May 2022: Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) Abdel Moneim el Terras asserted Tuesday the deeply-rooted relations binding Egypt and Libya as well as the importance of boosting them to support their national security.

The AOI’s different companies and factories will participate in the reconstruction initiative of Libya as per President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives, Terras said.

The AOI chief made the remarks as Libya’s deputy prime minister Ali Faraj Al-Gatrani opened the first Egyptian forum held for the reconstruction of Libya in Benghazi which will run until May 27.

Delivering a speech during the forum via video-conferencing, Terras said delegations from Egypt have made exploratory visits to Libya over the past period to identify priority sectors in which the Egyptian companies shall work as part of Libya’s reconstruction plans.

This gathering, which brings together the Egyptian national companies, proves that all Egyptians feel that both countries share a common destiny, he said, adding that this fair will be the first of a series of forums that will be launched by the Egyptian State in the coming period in Libya to offer it all means of support in various fields.

Meanwhile, Libya’s deputy prime minister welcomed the participating delegations of the investment companies specialized in the construction field, thanking the bodies responsible for holding this event.

The reconstruction path of Libya has been launched to push the country towards development and stability, he said, asserting that the Libyan government will support all companies willing to invest in the building field.
