Sisi, Brazilian Federal Accounts Court’s VP discuss maximizing cooperation between supreme audit institutions

CAIRO – 11 May 2022: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi discussed on Wednesday with Vice-President of the Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts Bruno Dantas means of boosting cooperation between the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) of both countries.

This comes especially within the framework of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), which represents the international voice of the supreme audit bodies, President Spokesman Bassam Radi said in a statement.

This also comes in light of the INTOSAI being an important platform for exchanging national expertise regarding providing regulatory standards for the public sector and promoting governance principles.

Dantas hailed the historic strong relations between Egypt and Brazil and affirmed his country’s keenness to enhance mutual understanding with Egypt in the field of legal and financial audit and combating corruption.

This comes especially in light of the important role played by the relevant bodies of the two countries to protect state funds and property, Dantas said.

He praised in this regard Egypt’s achievements in the field of comprehensive development under President Sisi over the past years.

Sisi hailed the friendly relations between Egypt and Brazil, affirming Egypt’s willingness to deep these relations in all fields, especially the auditing field.

This comes in light of the common visions and extensive professional experience enjoyed by the Egyptian Central Auditing Agency in Egypt and the Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts.

Sisi reviewed with the Brazilian official the efforts exerted by Egypt through its different strategies to face corruption and secure a climate of transparency, integrity and accountability.

Hesham Geneina, chairman of the Central Auditing Agency, attended the meeting.
