CAIRO - 7 May 2022: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said on Saturday that the industrial sector tops the government's priorities based on the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

During a meeting Saturday with Trade and Industry Minister Nevin Gamea, the premier said that the government continues to take measures to promote the Egyptian industrial sector with the participation of the private sector.

The premier made reference to directives of President Sisi to increase reliance on local products and reduce imports by strengthening the role of the private sector on that score.

Madbouli stressed that the government is keen to provide more incentives to support the industrial sector and facilitate the issuance of licenses for factories to operate industrial projects.

Gamea, for her part, reviewed executive steps taken to increase reliance on the national industry, including preparing a list of investment opportunities available in the industrial sector.

These steps include providing local alternatives for 131 products to meet the needs of the local market, the minister said.

She noted that the industrial investment map was activated as a platform to promote all industrial projects.
