CAIRO – 6 May 2022:  The Cultural Tourism Marketing Committee said that there is an increase in the volume of demand to visit the archaeological and cultural tourist sites in Luxor and Aswan during the winter touristic season by 28% compared to the same period last year.

The seasonal report which is issued at the end of each tourist season, said that the average tourist spending increased by 18%

The committee pointed out that the average tourist spending increased by 18% compared to the same period last year, as the average spending of a tourist during the winter ranged between 90 and 115 dollars, while the season also witnessed an increase in the average number of tourist nights spent by tourists in Egypt.

Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Activation, launched a new online campaign on various social media platforms, under the title “Follow the Sun,” starting from March 17 and for a period of 8 weeks, to promote the Egyptian tourist spots for the summer 2022 season.

The promotional campaign was launched in a number of major markets exporting tourism to Egypt, namely the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France and the United States of America.

For his part, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Activation Amr el-Qady indicated that the launch of this campaign coincides with the beginning of the spring season, adding that the campaign targets a number of markets to further enhance tourist movement to Egypt from these markets, especially in summer 2022.
