CAIRO – 21 March 2022: Egypt has extended condolences to the government and people of China as a plane carrying 132 people crashed in the country’s south on Monday with no signs of survivors.

“The Arab Republic of Egypt expresses its sincere condolences and sympathy to the government and people of the friendly People's Republic of China over the crash of a passenger plane in the south of the country,” the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“The government and people of Egypt extend their sincere condolences to the families of the victims [of the crash], stressing their full solidarity with China in this painful affliction,” the ministry added.

The China Eastern Boeing 737-800 crashed in a mountainous area of, AP reported, sparking the country’s worst air disaster in around a decade with no sign of survivors so far.
