CAIRO – 13 March 2022: Former Executive Director of Sir "Magdi Yacoub Foundation" and CEO of Al-Nas Hospital for Children Anissa Hassouna passed away on Sunday at the age of 69 after a long illness of cancer that lasted for six years.
 
Hassouna was named on the annual list of the Arabian Business & CEO Middle East magazine as one of the "World's 100 Most Powerful Arab Women" for 2014.
 
She worked as a former diplomat at both the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs then the League of Arab States. She also worked as a later Assistant General Manager of "Misr Iran Development Bank" and then Director-General of "Egypt's International Economic Forum".
 
She was a member of the Executive Council of the “Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs” which won the Nobel Prize in 1995.
