CAIRO - 9 March 2022: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli asserted on Wednesday that Egypt’s stock of wheat is sufficient for four months.

In a press conference in which a number of ministers also attended, the premier added that Egypt does not need to buy new shipments of wheat during this period.

He noted that the season of harvesting wheat will start in mid-April, adding that Egypt has enough wheat and will not resort to the international market until the end of 2022.

He also said that the government is establishing more outlets to provide commodities at affordable prices.

Wheat is a grass widely cultivated for its seed, a cereal grain which is a worldwide staple food. The many species of wheat together make up the genus Triticum; the most widely grown is common wheat
