CAIRO - 12 February 2022: Undersecretary of Al Azhar Mohamed el Duwaini said on Saturday that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's patronage of the 32nd International Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs comes as part of his ongoing efforts aimed to uphold values of coexistence and tolerance and building bridges of communication and understanding.

Addressing the conference, Duwaini said that Al Azhar cooperated with various religious institutions from inside and outside Egypt to provide the best examples of co-existence and achieve great successes through religious dialogues.

He noted that Islam outlined a religious, political and constitutional document nearly 14 centuries ago, which called for peaceful coexistence among all races and sects in Medina city.

Duwaini added that the conference mainly aims at tackling ways of achieving citizenship in the religious, cultural, social, political and legal areas.
