President Sisi arrives in Qena to open new developmental projects in Upper Egypt

CAIRO - 25 December 2021: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived in Qena where he would inaugurate new development projects within the activities of the “Week of Upper Egypt,” which reflects the state's efforts to achieve an integrated development for the people of Upper Egypt.
 
President Sisi will open industrial complexes in Luxor’s Baghdadi, Beni Suef’s Bayad Al-Arab, Minya’s Al-Matahra, in Qena governorate, and Hurghada of the Red Sea.
 
President Sisi also will inaugurate the road axis in Qena Governorate, with a length of 19 km, linking the eastern desert road with the agricultural road north of Samalut city in Minya. Other highways that would be inaugurated are the desert road across the Nile River, Adly Mansour axis in Beni Suef, 
 
Three days ago, the president opened in Assiut a number of developmental projects in Upper Egypt. He inaugurated the Assiut gasoline production complex is one of the state’s strategic projects which comes within the framework of the state’s plans to develop Upper Egypt.
 
The complex aimed at securing gasoline supplies to the people of Upper Egypt’s governorates and saving the cost of gasoline transporting from the existing refineries in Cairo, Alexandria and Suez to the various regions of Upper Egypt.
 
The state has constructed 365 bridges and tunnels worth LE 50 billion in Upper Egypt, in addition to constructing 2600 kilometers of roads and upgrading 4000 kilometers of roads.
 
The prime minister said 14 road axes are being constructed along the River Nile in Upper Egyptian governorates at a cost of LE 23.5 billion.
