CAIRO- 4 December 2021:  Egypt’s Mediterranean city of Alexandria is witnessing a fierce gale winds “Qassem,” as it has been projected by the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).

Major General Mohamed El-Sherif, Governor of Alexandria, affirmed that all the competent authorities and agencies in the sewage company have taken all necessary measures and preparations to deal with the unstable weather conditions and sudden fluctuating climatic changes.

Egypt has witnessed a major drop in temperature that would last  December 10, said Mohamed Ali Fahim, the head of the Climate Change Information Center, Renewable Energy & Expert System (CCICRES) on Wednesday.

“Winter in Egypt has changed as the forecasts of climate models show that the winter of this year will be unusually cold,” he added in remarks to the Al-Watan newspaper.

Egypt would be hit by an Icelandic depression and see frequent rains and snowfalls, experts told other local media.
