CAIRO - 6 February 2021: Egypt’s Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representatives to the African Union Mohamed Gad presided over the AU’s Peace and Security Council session which discussed the protection of medical teams and facilities during armed conflicts.

During the session, the ambassador said that targeting medical teams and facilities in the time of conflicts is a violation to the humanitarian international law.

He called on all parties to conflicts in the African continent to commit to protecting civilians and not to attack medical teams and facilities as well as abiding by the international laws concerned.
