Yemen's ambassador to Cairo hails ‘distinguished relations’ between Cairo, Sana'a

CAIRO – 28 October 2021: Yemen's ambassador to Cairo, Muhammad Marem praised, Thursday the ‘distinguished historical relations’ between Egypt and Yemen in various fields and the authentic and honorable stances adopted by Egypt and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi supporting the Yemeni people.

Last week, Marem, expressed his appreciation for Egypt and all its efforts to support his country throughout all the challenges and hard times that faced it.

He added that Egypt received large numbers of Yemenis, and provided them with all services they needed.

“Despite all the challenges, Egypt has not abandoned the Yemeni people.” Marem said in a televised statement, Wednesday.

Marem noted to the visits of Yemeni officials to Egypt during the past period including the Prime Minster Visit to Cairo, in which Egypt expressed its willingness to cooperate with Yemen.

He explained that the number of Yemenis in Egypt ranges between one million and half to two million, including 3,700 war-wounded receiving treatment in Egypt.

He added that there are seven schools in Egypt that are open for Yemenis to receive their studies, with grants available to the neediest students.

Earlier in September President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi asserted Egypt's stance on backing all endeavors aimed at accomplishing a political solution in Yemen in order to maintain the country's stability and territorial integrity as well as fulfill the ambitions and free willpower of the Yemeni people against all foreign interferences in their internal affairs. 

The president added, in his meeting with Yemeni Minister of Defense Mohamed Ali Maqdeshi, during his visit to Egypt, that the above mentioned are the principles and bases of the Egyptian policy and that Egypt would not spare any effort to help Yemen attain those goals.
