CAIRO - 2 October 2021:  Egypt’s Sharm El-Sheikh International Airport received the first flights of Aeroflot Airlines, coming from Russia, on Friday.

It is scheduled that the Aeroflot Airlines will operate a daily flight from Russia to Sharm El Sheikh, said the Egyptian Airports Company on Facebook.

“We gave a water salute to the crowds to express our joy at visiting Sharm El Sheikh for the first time. Welcome back!  Best wishes for a memorable vacation in Sharm Elsheikh, our friends,” the company said on her Facebook page.

The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency said on August 27, 2021 that More Russian airlines will open regular flights between Russia and Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada.

Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh international airports received on 9 August first flights coming from Moscow after nearly six years of suspension after the plane crash incident that took place in 2015.

Russia resumed flights to Cairo in 2018 but flights to the Egyptian resorts of Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada were only resumed earlier this year after a telephone call between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
