Egyptian president extends condolences to UK prime minister

CAIRO – 15 September 2021: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi extended condolences to UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday over the passing of his mother, wishing consolation to the family.

 

Charlotte Johnson Wahl passed away aged 79 at a London Hospital on September 13. The UK prime minister's mother became president of the European Commission for Human Rights, after she had been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease at the age of 40.

 

Wahl had four children and 13 grandchildren. Her son, Joseph, was also a minister but he was in charge of Universities, Science, Research and Innovation. He held the position twice in 2015-2018, and July-September 2019.
