CAIRO – 10 September 2021: Egypt reported on Thursday more than 400 new coronavirus cases for the first time since June 27, according to figures published by the health ministry.

The total number of coronavirus cases since the pandemic hit the country in February last year has reached 291,585 after 413 new cases were detected, the Health Ministry said.

Coronavirus-related deaths also rose to 16,836 after reporting 12 new deaths on Thursday.

Egypt’s Health Minster Hala Zayed warned that Egypt might wittiness a hike in coronaviruses infections by the end of September and next October.

Zayed has also reaffirmed that the state currently works on increasing oxygen strategic stock and tanks and healthcare beds in this regard.

She reiterated that a protocol has been developed for the treatment of the coronavirus cases with the best treatment services to overcome the pandemic.
