Protocol to be issued next week to treat children from COVID

CAIRO – 30 August 2021: A special protocol will be issued for children next week, as a fifth update to the COVID-19 treatment protocol was revealed during a conference.

According to the new update to the existing COVID-19 protocol, some medicines were deleted and others were added based on scientific studies.  

Hossam Hosni, Advisor to the Minister, Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Medical Specialties and Chairman of the Scientific Committee to Combat Corona Virus said that COVID patients cannot rely only on vitamins in treating the virus.

For his part, Dr. Ihab Kamal, Assistant Minister of Health for Vocational Medical Education Affairs, said that there is continuous training for doctors and medical staff on intensive care and dealing with Corona virus, with the goal to enable all doctors and nurses to be provide distinguished medical service for COVID patients in Egypt.

He explained, that the scientific committee will issue an official protocol for children to treat corona next week, adding that the delta variable does not represent a problem in Egypt, “but we must take into account precautionary measures such as washing hands until the crisis passes.”

He added that no inventory has been made to the numbers of new cases that contracted the delta variable.
