CAIRO - 10 August 2020: The Health Ministry said Monday that 51new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed cases reported in the country since the beginning of the outbreak to 284,706.

In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 7 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 16,575.

As many as 402 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 233,227 so far, the spokesman said.

Egypt will receive 148.2 million doses of coronavirus vaccine between August and the year end, Health Minister Hala Zayed said last month.

The doses will be sufficient to inoculate 83.7 million citizens, the minister said during the weekly cabinet meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli at the cabinet headquarters in new Alamein city.
