The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) recieved a letter from the Court of Appeal's head, who is in charge of managing the frozen assets, to release the accounts of Alaa Mubarak, his wife Heidi Mohamed Magdy Rasekh and their son Omar, along with Gamal Mubarak, his wife Khaadija Yehia el-Gammal, their daughter Farida and their son Mahmoud.

The freezing decision was related to a money laundering and stock market manipulation case in which Mubarak’s sons, Alaa and Gamal, were implicated.
