CAIRO – 14 July 2021: President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi will attend a Thursday ceremony commemorating the 2019 launch of Haya Karima initiative to develop the countryside.

The ceremony will present the idea of the initiative, dubbed “decent life,” its aims, and success thus far.

The cabinet and a thousand citizens from all over the country will attend, as well as public figures and representatives of international institutions to witness the initiative’s steps to provide a decent life for millions of Egyptians.

Sisi launched Haya Karima to provide higher standards of life and daily services for the communities most in need in the countryside.

Haya Karima connects state institutions, civil society, the private sector, and sustainable development partners in Egypt and beyond, exerting unique and concerted efforts to beat multi-dimensional poverty, especially in villages.

There are 4,658 villages targeted at investments of L.E. 700 billion improving the lives of more than half of Egypt’s population.

A comprehensive development roadmap in harmony with the UN sustainable development goals has been laid out with an array of services including health, education, culture, infrastructure, clean environment, and decent housing, as well assistance to maximize production at the level of local communities.
