CAIRO – 14 July 2021: Egyptian Railway system received 33 new Russian and Hungarian train vehicles arrived through the port of Alexandria.

 

The Railway Authority has received a new batch of Russian-Hungarian vehicles coming through Alexandria port, as part of a deal to manufacture and supply 1,300 new vehicles, which it concluded with the Russian company Transmash, the representative of the Russian-Hungarian alliance, worth one billion and 16 million and 50 thousand euros.

 

The new batch includes 33 third-class vehicles with dynamic ventilation, including 20 vehicles from Russia and 13 vehicles from Hungary, bringing the number of vehicles that have arrived from the deal so far to 460 vehicles with Russian and Hungarian dynamic ventilation, and the arrival of the rest of the vehicles continues in batches by 35 vehicles per month.

 

The deal of the 1300 new passenger cars includes 800 air-conditioned cars (500 air-conditioned third class, which is a new service offered to passengers for the first time in the history of Egypt’s railways, 180 second class luxury cars, 90 luxury first class cars and 30 air-conditioned buffet cars) and 500 third class cars with dynamic ventilation.

 

The deal contributes to raising the efficiency of daily operation and the regularity of operating schedules, so that the citizen sees every month the entry of completely new trains consisting of tractors and new vehicles, which contributes to improving the service provided to the passengers.
