No raise in Cairo Metro tickets prices: Minister of Transport

CAIRO- 7 June 2021:  A French company will be managing the third line of Cairo Metro starting June 25 according to Minster of Transport Kamel Al-Wazir.

He denied that this new procedure will be accompanied with raising the Metro tickets prices.

The minister said that President Abdel Fattah al Sisi approved a decree to appoint 300 engineers in the railway sector, while 180 engineers and technicians will be trained to work in this sector and train drivers will have 6-month training in the US.

Sisi also approved a decree on appointing 1,000 engineers, 1,500 technicians to work in the railways sector.

Engineers graduated from technology departments will be appointed as train drivers and will have good salaries and incentives.

Egypt will be the largest hub of world trade and logistics under the leadership of President Sisi, the minister added
