EW DELHI, June 5 (MENA) - India on Saturday reported 120,529 new Covid-19 infections in 24 hours, the lowest since April 7.

During the same time span, 3,380 more people succumbed to the pandemic, the health ministry in India said.

The fatalities witnessed a spike, crossing 3,000 mark on Saturday once again after recording over 2,000 deaths in the last two days, the Times of India newspaper said.

Total fatalities hit 344,082 since the start of the pandemic in the country.

As many as 197,894 persons have recovered, bringing total recoveries to 26,795,549 in the country.

There are now 1,555,248 active cases in India, according to the ministry.
