CAIRO – 11 May 2021: Aswan International Airport and border ports in the south of the governorate received batches including the latest COVID rapid detectors, in order to help detect cases arriving in Egypt, whether Egyptians or foreigners.

 

Director of Preventive Medicine department in Aswan Mostafa Aboul Magd assured that two rapid testers were provided for Aswan Airport and land borders to determine those infected with the virus, as they come, either directly or indirectly, from different countries including: India, Brazil, Latin America countries.

Aboul Magd assured that travelers who arrive in Egypt, by air, sea or land, are obliged to show a negative PCR test to be allowed entry.

 

This comes within the framework of raising the maximum level of preparedness in all quarantine departments at airports, seaports and land crossings.

Egypt has begun taking measures to prevent the spread of this fierce strain.

 

WHO has classified the Indian variant as a “variant of concern,” after massive infection and death rates have hit India, with observers saying the actual numbers are far higher.
