CAIRO - 4 July 2017: The House of Representatives approved during a session under speaker Ali Abdel Aal on Tuesday a bill presented by the government on amending some articles of law no. 5 of 2010 on regulating organs transplant.

The approval came by a two-third majority which was needed for the amendment.

According to the new law, every person helping or taking part in the transplant process outside unlicensed medical facilities will receive a rigorous sentence and will be slapped a fine ranging between one and two million Egyptian pounds.

The owner of the medical facility which carries out such operations will be also be punished in case he knows the operations and the doctors who carry them out will be also suspended for a period ranging between 3 and 10 years and will be fined according to the new law.
