| Who Have Borne the Battle In 1973, the nation called and they answered. They restored Sinai to Egyptian hands, restored pride to a despondent nation. Egypt’s war veterans, from the 1940s to the peacekeepers of today, asked for nothing in return. Sadly, that’s exactly what most of them got. The “March for Those Who Died for Us” was scheduled for October 6, 2007, the thirty-fourth anniversary of the 1973 War. More than 900 people received invitations: 200 said they might attend, 120 confirmed that they were coming, the rest were missing in action. At 8pm, in front of Al-Ahly Club, the march began. Total number of participants: three.
