Boshkash

Starring Mohamed Saad, Nour Ezzat Abou-Ouf and Youssef Shaaban Directed by Ahmed Youssry (Release: July 30)

With his creation of the character El-Limby, Mohamed Saad was crowned the new comic talent after he scored the largest box office earnings, topping Mohamed Heneidy. Over the years, however, his star has been in decline as his reputation as being difficult on set grew. Even Amr Arafa, the director of Saad’s latest film Boshkash, decided to leave the film mid-production, claiming Saad refused to follow instructions. The production house, El-Sobky Films, had no alternative but to hire Ahmed Youssry and Galal El-Zaki to complete the shooting in time for a summer release. Boshkash is the comedic story of a sports agent who travels all the way to Cuba in search of football talents.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

Starring Brendan Fraser, Maria Bello, Jet Li, John Hannah and Michelle Yeoh Directed by Rob Cohen (Release: August 6)

In this follow-up to The Mummy films and The Scorpion King prequel, which all scored more than $1 billion worldwide, the action shifts from Egypt to Asia. Explorer Rick O’Connell (Fraser) finds himself facing the resurrected Han Emperor (Li) who wants to use his army of soldiers to rule the world. Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious) takes over the director chair from original director Stephen Sommers, who co-produces this time around.

But as soon as they reach the location, they find themselves thrown into a real-life war situation. Downey Jr., star of the recent hit Iron Man, is almost unrecognizable playing an African-American star.

Baby Mama

Successful businesswoman Kate Holbrook (Fey) has finally decided that she’s going to have a child on her own. But after she discovers she has only a million-to-one chance of getting pregnant, she allows working girl Angie (Poehler) to become her unlikely surrogate mother.

Steve Carell is special agent Maxwell Smart, sent by his Chief (Arkin) on a mission to stop the evil crime syndicate KAOS in its latest plot for world domination. The less-experienced Smart is partnered with the lovely Agent 99 (Hathaway) to go after the evil mastermind Siegfried (Stamp).
