Groundwater
Development based on groundwater should be put off until all technical studies have been carried out to determine development patterns commensurate with the potential of aquifers, the minister of irrigation said Wednesday.
The day is intended to raise awareness of the lack of access to safe water for more than 2 billion people.
Abou Zeid has been among the judges panel of the Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize for the tenth year in row.
The discovery was made while the commission was undergoing their current works of removing groundwater from under the Temple of Kom Ombo in the city of Aswan, south of Egypt.
They have been executed in a cost of LE 1.5 billion.
