Lebanese tourists not required security permit: Min.

Mon, Jun. 19, 2017
CAIRO – 19 June 2017: Lebanese tourists can land in Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada airports without a prior security permit, the Egyptian Tourism Ministry said in a Monday statement denying rumors they would be required to produce permits.

“The circulation of such false news could undermine... the decisions made by the government to facilitate visits by Arab brothers to Egypt, and reduces the effort of the Ministry to restore tourism to its normal rates,” Tourism Minister Yehia Rashed said in the statement.

Last May, Egypt decided to produce a visa for foreigners with residency in the states of the Gulf Cooperation Council upon arrival at Egyptian airports in an effort to encourage tourist influx.
