CAIRO - 30 May 2019: Egyptian Ambassador to Serbia Amr Al-Jowaili participated in the launching ceremony of a direct flight between Cairo and Belgrade within a set of destinations of Air Serbia.

The ceremony was attended by the Serbian deputy prime minister, the Serbian ministers of communication, trade and tourism and the CEO of the Serbian Airline.

Jowaili assured that the first flight between the two capitals is set to operate starting the first week of June. Belgrade is the only capital in the West Balkans to set off direct flights to Cairo and the latter will be the only African destination the Serbian Airlines reach.

Jowaili lauded dedicating a part of the ceremony to promoting tourism in Egypt where the most unique places in Egypt were displayed.

For his part, the Serbian tourism minister expressed his hope that the new partnership serves the two sides in Cairo and Belgrade and facilitates trade exchange to boost bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
