CAIRO - 25 March 2019: President Abdel Fatah El Sisi Monday asserted Egypt's keenness on enhancing cooperation and coordination with the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) to promote for tourism as being one of the vital pillars of the Egyptian economy.

During a meeting with the organization's Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili, President Sisi said Egypt is keen on diversifying and making best use of its tourist attractions including conferences tourism through hosting several international functions in all fields recently, Presidency Spokesman Bassam Radi said.

Pololikashvili presented the Egyptian leader with the organization's shield in appreciation of his active role in supporting the tourism industry through launching the structural reform program to develop the tourism sector in Egypt, he said.

President Sisi welcomed Pololikashvili's visit and noted Egypt's efforts to upgrade tourism through institutional reform at the level of all sectors including training of tourism workers.

During the meeting, attended by Tourism Minister Rania el Mashat, the two sides probed ways to boost Egypt's efforts in supporting young investors and entrepreneurship in the tourism field. They also reviewed the latest tourist projects in Egypt, especially in the new urban communities and the Grand Egyptian Museum, he added.
