Berlin Tourism Expo draws 160,000 visitors

BERLIN, March 11 (MENA) - The international travel trade show ITB Berlin, that wound up on Sunday, drew 160,000 visitors, 3 percent up from their number last year.

A statement by Berlin exhibitions authority said the increase in the number of visitors testifies to the importance and stability of the global tourism industry.

Despite the ups and downs in global economy, the global growth rate of tourism remained stable, it said.

The international travel trade show ITB Berlin is the world's largest tourism trade fair. The companies represented at the fair include hotels, tourist boards, tour operators, system providers, airlines and car rental companies.

The ITB Berlin takes place annually in March at the Messe Berlin.
