CAIRO – 19 December 2018: Red Sea Governor Ahmed Abdallah and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Deputy Mission Director, Rebecca Latorraca, inaugurated on Dec. 16 the first scientific museum specialized in studying marine science and environment through using modern technology in Marsa Alam.

Heba Shawky, deputy managing director of Hurghada Environmental protection and Conservation Association (HEPCA), said that the museum aims to provide researchers with information about marine life to help them in their studies.

Shawky added that the museum is a great tourist hub as it provides tourists with lenses of virtual reality, enabling them to enter the miraculous world of the Red Sea.

She referred that the ticket prices for tourists, Egyptians and researchers have not been identified yet.
She further explained that the museum, which cost LE 10 million, was established in cooperation with USAID to allow visitors to get acquainted with the unique natural resources of the Red Sea and its biological diversity.
