ROME - 12 October 2018: Egyptian Ambassador in Rome Hesham Badr on Friday inaugurated the Egyptian pavilion at the Italian tourism exhibition "TTG Travel Experience" in the Italian city of Rimini.

About 2,250 exhibitors and 1,500 tourism service providers from 90 world countries are taking part in the event.

While opening the pavilion, the ambassador asserted the Egyptian government's interest in increasing the number of tourist arrivals from different world countries, especially Italy.

In this regard, he spotlighted that the Egyptian Tourism Ministry has picked a new international alliance to promote Egyptian tourist attractions, through launching extensive promotion campaigns in the main tourism markets, notably the Italian one.

He pointed out to a significant increase in the number of Italian tourist flights coming to Egypt.

Several Italian tour operators are planning to operate charter flights from the cities of Milan and Rome to Luxor as of March, Badr said.

Egypt's inbound tourism in the first six months of 2018 upped by more than 50 percent, he said, adding that the number of tourist arrivals is expected to rise by 90 percent at the end of the year.

The TTG Travel Experience saw a high turnout from tour operators, charter airlines, and regular and low-cost air carriers that seek to operate additional flights to the Red Sea resort cities of Hurghdad and Sharm El Sheikh, as well as Marsa Alam and Luxor.
