CAIRO – 18 September 2018: After traveling for nearly 14 years, I have gained extensive experience when it comes to dealing with airports, so I want to draw some attention to some life hacks that can make going through airport procedures much easier.

Luggage carts

Do not pay for luggage cart services. Instead, you can ask and look for the place where workers usually place those carts. Some workers know that passengers cannot find those carts easily, so they offer help but definitely not for free.

Luggage

Egyptians usually bring overweighed bags or even oversized handbags. So, you may need to carefully check your airline’s rules and regulations concerning the allowed weight and luggage.

Baggage check-in

Do not check-in your bags very early before the time of your flight, or you will have to wait very long to get them after your arrival at your destination. You should try to check-in your luggage as late as you can to be the first to get your luggage. But of course don’t be too late as you definitely do not want to miss your flight.

Liquids

Usual airport security regulations prohibit passengers to carry liquids before boarding on the plane, so make sure that you empty your water bottle and put it in your handbag before going through the final security check phase to avoid buying a new expensive one from the airport. Afterwards, you can ask anyone to fill it from the first class lounge.

The Customs

If you usually get gifts for your relatives and friends when you come back home, make sure that you have carefully removed the clothing price tag for clothes or have sealed off new electric devices. Then, you can re-put those parts when you return home, or otherwise you will pay customs to pass these new products.

Transportation from the airport

After arriving in the destination country, look for limousine services provided by tourism companies under governmental supervision and have background information about their pricings, and then you can compare those prices with local taxi services and UBER/Careem services, then you can choose the best and safest alternative.

In conclusion, you might need to double check the rules and regulations of the airport you are heading to and the airline you are flying with to avoid unnecessary troubles.
