Red Sea unveils new resort in Red Sea’s Giftoun Island

CAIRO - 25 May 2017: Located 11 kilometers from Hurghada City, “Mahmya” beach features an eco-tourist destination on the National Park of Giftun Island and is among the special destinations that vacationers should visit in Red Sea.

Mahmya was developed by Al-Alia Company and was designed to preserve environmental settings on the island and supervised by the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA,) according to Mahmya’s official website.

The resort’s facilities were carved from natural rock formation and pedestrian bridges are constructed from tree branches and trunks. Boats are anchored offshore at Mahmya and are available for visitors’ use.



Surrounded by blue waters and sandy beach, Mahmya also features restaurants and bars that overlook the sea and caters travelers’ needs.

The resort provides several activities that travelers can enroll in; however snorkeling is among the best activities in Red Sea’s Mahmya.

Visitors are giving feasible options when paying approximately less than L.E. 2 thousand to participate in Giftun Island Snorkeling Cruise that begins from Mahmya or participate in both Giftun Island Mahmya Beach and Snorkeling Day Trip that starts from Hurghada, according to Tripadvisor.
