CAIRO – 17 May 2017: Rumors of government attempt to change rules governing Jordanian nationals entry to Egypt are completely incorrect, Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs and Egyptians Abroad Khalid Rizk stated Wednesday.

Some Jordanian media outlets circulated false information claiming a change in the rules governing Jordanian nationals’ entry to Egypt and the proposal of new requirements in this regard.

Rizk has urged all media outlets to confirm the accuracy of the disseminated information. He also confirmed that such false information create confusion for tourists wishing to visit Egypt.

Visitors from Jordan are exempted from visa requirements when visiting Egypt. The only travel requirement that applies to Jordanian nationals is to be a holder of a 5 year passport, valid for a minimum of 6 months.
