CAIRO – 8 April 2017: Aswan’s Nile Museum takes its visitors on an historical trip to get to know the story of the Nile and the history of the national projects on its banks all the way back to the era of Muhammed Ali Pasha in the 19th century.

The Museum includes

250 artifacts

that record the journey of the Nile from its source down to the estuary in the Mediterranean Sea.

The Ministry of Culture donated 61 paintings to the museum that portray the Nile from the perspective of the most prominent Egyptian artists.

As you enter the building, you will see high-rise flags of all of the Nile Basin countries, a gesture to signify that this entity belongs to all of these states and not just Egypt, Hisham Farghali, Director General of the Museum

told Welad El Balad.

Every spot in the museum showcases a piece of the history of the Nile River, represented through sketches, graphics or documentaries.
